Open Jack on a Mac
The alpha isn't signed with an Apple certificate or notarized by Apple yet, so macOS may say it cannot verify Jack Alpha when you first open it.
- Open the downloaded Jack-mac-arm64.dmg and drag Jack into your Applications folder.
- Open Jack Alpha from Applications. If macOS says Apple could not verify the app, dismiss the warning.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to Security. Next to the message that Jack Alpha was blocked, click Open Anyway.
- Enter your Mac password or use Touch ID if asked, then confirm Open. Jack starts, and macOS remembers your choice.
If Jack is still blocked
If macOS says “Jack Alpha.app” is damaged or there is no Open Anyway button, use the Terminal steps below after dragging Jack into Applications. The command removes the download quarantine attribute from Jack Alpha so you can open it.
- Open Terminal (find it with Spotlight), paste the command below and press Return.
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Jack Alpha.app" - Open Jack Alpha from Applications.
You can only do this if you downloaded Jack from this site. If you didn't, don't open it.
